LROCs 63rd AGM

On the 18th of February 2023, the Land Rover Owners Club (LROC) held their Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Rietvlei Nature Reserve in Pretoria, Gauteng. The event was attended by a quorum of members, and the formalities of the AGM were carried out.

The proceedings were opened by the Club Secretary, Malcolm Timberlake, who declared the quorum. The outgoing Club Chairperson, Jokob Jordaan, then delivered the Chairperson Address, which outlined the state of the Club and the challenges it faces. Jordaan also provided insights into the operational elements required for the continuation of the Club. A copy of the Chairperson's report is provided in the March 2023 newsletter for reference.

Bernadette Gundelfinger, the outgoing Vice Chairperson, delivered the Vice Chairperson Event report. Gundelfinger detailed the events and activities that the Club hosted for members over the 2022 period. She took the opportunity to thank Madeleine, the Club's Administrator, for the diligent effort and support offered over the preceding years. A copy of the Chairperson's report is provided in the March 2023 newsletter for reference.

Coenie Du Toit, the Club's Financial Officer, discussed the financial position of the Club, providing insights into its revenue and expenditure. The voting of new Committee and Council of Advisor members in accordance with the Club Constitution then took place, with Clint Mason being voted into Chairperson and Malcolm Timberlake voted into the Council of Advisors.

Membership awards were presented to members who had been with the Club for 50, 30, 20, and 10 years. The trophies awards were also presented to deserving members. Nigel Wilshire received the Bok Raubenheimer Award for his tremendous effort int the restoration of the Clubs Driver Training Trailer. Tegan Van Niekerk received the Chairperson's award for most Outstanding Junior, Mike Ilsley received the Series One Battlers Award, and Team Veeiat (Leon de Beer Family and Friends) won the Treasure Hunt. Ewan Cotton received the DRIVING AWARD/TROPHY for the Kiddies Trial.

After the formalities were concluded, members present enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere and a braai. They shared stories of adventures and good times in their Land Rovers.

The official minutes of the AGM will be made available to Club Members as part of the normal processes engaged by the Club. If further information is required, members are advised to contact the Club Chairperson.
