From the very beginning, the atmosphere was electric with excitement. Our brand new LROC stand, stood proudly with much thanks to the solo effort by Mike De Bruyn. The stand provides a professional image of the Club, reigniting our connection with the wider Landy community. Its sleek design and captivating visuals drew in enthusiasts, eager to immerse themselves in our vibrant community.
Throughout the weekend, our members enthusiastically engaged with fellow enthusiasts, forming new friendships, and fostering a sense of camaraderie. From animated conversations to shared adventures, the spirit of camaraderie was palpable. We witnessed first-hand the genuine passion and love for Land Rovers that brought us all together.
As proud supporters of the Landy Fest 2023, LROC members took on marshalling duties along the series trail on both Saturday and Sunday mornings, ensuring the trail games were entertaining and exciting for festival participants. True to the Landy Fest tradition, the trail games were filled with laughter and merriment, with one particularly memorable game leaving participants covered in mud from head to toe!
The Landy Fest is a weekend-long affair, providing ample opportunities for the LROC team to gather around the campfire with fellow Landy enthusiasts. As the sun set over the campgrounds each evening, we found ourselves drawn to the crackling campfire, where laughter, stories, and a deep sense of belonging filled the air. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings, the Landy Fest organized talented local singers, attracting crowds to the dance floor. In true LROC style, we soon took over the dance floor and surrounding tables, revelling in the magical atmosphere that can only be created when Landy people come together.
The charm of Land Fest 2023 extended far beyond the activities and challenges. It was a celebration of the Land Rover legacy, strengthening the bond among LROC members and forging new memories that will last a lifetime.
One of my favourite experiences from this years Landy Fest had to be driving one of the modified Disco’s. These vehicles captured everyone’s attention throughout the weekend. Witnessing the remarkable capabilities of these 4x4’s was truly awe-inspiring. From navigating steep slopes at incredible angles to defying gravity with ease, it was a powerful reminder of the extraordinary capabilities of Land Rovers and the thrill of off-road adventures. Sitting in the driver’s seat, traversing an 86-degree slope, evoked a sense of exhilaration and appreciation for the remarkable engineering and skill that goes into these vehicles. Something I will never forget.
Land Fest 2023 will forever hold a special place in our hearts. It was a testament to the unwavering dedication and passion of Land Rover enthusiasts like you. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated, contributed, and made this event a resounding success. Your enthusiasm and commitment are what make the Land Rover Owners Club of Southern Africa thrive.
As we reflect on the incredible experiences shared during Land Fest 2023, we eagerly look to the future. Stay tuned for more thrilling adventures, exhilarating challenges, and unforgettable memories with the Land Rover Owners Club of Southern Africa. Together, we will continue to embrace the Land Rover spirit, forging new paths and conquering new horizons.
