Module 3 is one of the most exciting and informative training modules offered by the club. It emphasizes the critical importance of safety during the recovery process, covering essential do’s and don’ts, which recovery gear to use when, different recovery techniques, and the pros and cons of each.
Members were thrilled to see the club’s recovery equipment on display, allowing them to interact directly with the various types of equipment and learn from the knowledge and experience of their peers. This hands-on approach makes for a dynamic and powerful learning experience.
One of the favorite parts of the training was the High Lift Jack and Winch Recovery demonstration, where members had the opportunity to use the equipment in a safe and controlled environment to familiarize themselves with the correct operation. The controlled demonstration of a snatch recovery gone wrong also opened everyone’s eyes, as the speed and force of a snapped shackle was displayed right in front of their eyes. It’s almost unbelievable to witness how quickly and forcefully the shackle flies through the air. As Martin put it, “if that hit you... it’s tickets!”
It’s an inescapable fact that when you push your 4x4 into tough terrain, you’re bound to get stuck. When that happens, it’s vital to know what to do, how to do it, and, most importantly, how to do it safely. Module 3 provides members with the knowledge and confidence to tackle any recovery situation with ease and safety. Don’t miss out on this exciting and informative training module!
