Driver Training and River Run

28 February 2022 - Jakob Jordaan
The Club’s Driver Training for the year kicked off the weekend of 29 and 30 January at Rust de Winter.

Nine people attended the Module 1 Fundamentals Training on the Saturday, and we even had a few ladies on board!  Needless to say, the company was good!  Of course, we were scared of the rain, so we started straight away under the Lapa on the camping grounds.  After we finished the theory side of things, we went over to the Gymkhana area to do some practical driving.  There were lots of water and enough slippery mud to make the practical session good fun!

The Sunday morning saw 19 people in 13 Landies on the River Run.  We started off in the rain and there was enough water, steep slippery inclines and declines in and out of the river to offer the members some good driving fun!

Thanks to Brendon Lowe who led the Driver Training session on the Saturday and Rob Keen who led the River Run on the Sunday!  For those who couldn’t make the weekend, sorry, it was one of those just good fun weekends!
