De Wildt 4x4 Human Rights Day Trail

22 March 2019 - Jonathan Bydendyk
There aren’t too many better ways to enjoy a public holiday than a trip out to the bush with like-minded Land Rover Owners, a few obstacles and a nice hot day like only an African autumn can offer.

We set off early Thursday morning to meet up at De Wildt 4x4, close to Hartebeestpoort and hit the trail after the driver debriefing, which covered the usual code of conduct and what to expect on the trail. We made our way through all the various obstacles, some tackling Gert’s se Klip and later the mud holes, including Fernando and son in his very capable Discovery Sport.

After about three and a half hours on the trail we got a braai going and sat around sharing our Land Rover adventures and chatting about future trips.

Overall it was a great day out and the relatively tame trail gave members the opportunity to hone their off-road driving skills and have some fun doing it. Thanks to Pieter Greyling for his support and helping out along the trail and all members who attended - See you at the next one.
